JRC recently worked with The Institute for Healing of Memories-North America (IHOM-NA) branch on refreshing their website and creating a new look with their existing brand elements for their business cards and letterhead.
IHM IHOM is a multinational non-profit founded in 1998 to facilitate the healing process in post-apartheid South Africa. IHM In North America, the organization facilitates workshops, seminars, and talks for individuals, for diverse communities and nations healing from trauma.
One of JRC’s interests and specialty is working with non-profit organizations to help them communicate their mission with clarity and, of course, with style. IHOM North America wanted the website to reflect the joyfulness that is possible with healing. JRC added colorful design elements to the website to communicate the non-profit’s personality and beginnings in South Africa.
JRC was also asked to design a double-sided business card and letterhead for the IHOM-NA board members. JRC took the elements from the website refresh and created business cards and letterhead based on the colors and look of the current logo.
The way we approached this project was unique. We worked with Karen Hayes, IHOM-NA’s Management Consultant based in Southern California, who facilitated a review of our design by 13 board members located across the country. This was a collaborative effort with several rounds of revisions to reflect consensus of the board members.
Working with Julie was a delightful process. I sought her out for this project because I had seen her beautiful work for LA Commons, another non-profit. She is very creative and was able to capture the hopeful nature of our programs, while maintaining the business aesthetic we needed. She was patient and resourceful in responding to the feedback from our team. She also logistically facilitated the process from conception to distribution which was a great help to us. I have recommended Julie to another organization and would do so again. – Karen Hayes
